'Captain America in conflict with Miley Cyrus generation,' says director

Captain America is in "complete conflict with the Miley Cyrus generation" in the superhero sequel The Winter Soldier, according to one of the film's directors.

Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo are helming the Marvel project, which sees Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers. He is joined by Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fur for the film, while Anthony Mackie plays a superhero called the Falcon who has the ability to fly and Robert Redford appears as a a senior official within government agency SHIELD.

Speaking to SFX about the film and its plot, Anthony said: "He's coming from a place in time where things were very black and white, Nazis vs Allies." His sibling Joe then added: "The conflict of the film is that some of the values he's trying to bring forward from the greatest generation are in complete conflict with the Miley Cyrus generation."

It was recently reported that the Russo brothers have already been asked by Marvel to return and oversee a third film in the Captain America franchise. The Winter Soldier, meanwhile, is set for release on April 4, 2014 - click below to watch a trailer.
