Channing Tatum turns producer for adaptation of 'The Contortionist's Handbook'

Rising star to produce and act in new film

Channing Tatum is set to produce and star in The Contortionist's Handbook, a film adaptation of the best-selling novel by Craig Clevenger. The actor will play a forger who moves swiftly from one identity to another, never allowing his past to catch up with him, until he meets a troubled woman with secrets of her own, reports Deadline.com.

Tatum was first noticed for his role as a rebellious hip-hop dancer in the 2006 film Step Up, which has since spawned a successful franchise.

He went on to star in the recent film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and has been filming The Dilemma with director Ron Howard.

This will be Tatum's first foray into producing, while the script will be written by first-time writer Robin Shushan.
