Charlie Sheen apologises for homophobic slur

'Anger Management' actor says he meant to say 'maggot'

Charlie Sheen apologises for homophobic slur

Charlie Sheen has apologised for uttering a homophobic slur at the opening of a bar in Mexico on Friday (December 29).

The controversial actor was caught on camera, in a video published on US gossip website TMZ, saying: "How are we doing? Lying bunch of faggot assholes, how are we doing?"

The Anger Management actor was hosting the opening night of a new rooftop bar at the El Ganzo Hotel in Gabo, Mexico when he said the offensive sentence to a VIP crowd which included ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash.

Sheen, who is part owner of the bar, apologised for what he said and told TMZ: "I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone. I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp."

Charlie Sheen can be seen, alongside Lindsay Lohan, poking fun at himself in the new trailer for Scary Movie 5 - you can watch it by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The new trailer for the comedy-horror sequel, which is due out in April 2013, sees the team, including High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale who plays the lead role, take shots at Black Swan and Inception.
