Colin Firth could star opposite Emma Stone in the next film from Woody Allen.
According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning star of The King's Speech is "in talks" to play the film's male lead. Stone signed on to play the female lead earlier this month (April 2013).
The film is currently untitled and Woody Allen (pictured right) is keeping all plot details firmly under wraps. However, the director is reportedly planning to shoot the movie in the south of France.
The prolific Allen has recently completed his 44th film as director, Blue Jasmine. Set in New York and Los Angeles, it stars Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Louis CK and Sally Hawkins and will open in UK cinemas on September 20.
Meanwhile, Firth is also in talks to star in The Secret Service, Matthew Vaughn's big screen adaptation of a comic book series he devised with Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar and artist Dave Gibbons. The story is described as "James Bond meets My Fair Lady" and Vaughn is due to begin shooting later this year for a November 2014 release.
