Courtney Love claims that Frances Bean Cobain was offered lead role in 'Twilight'

Hole rocker says taking part would have 'destroyed' her daughter's life

Courtney Love claims that Frances Bean Cobain was offered lead role in 'Twilight'

Courtney Love has claimed that her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, was offered the lead role in the Twilight franchise.

According to Yahoo, the Hole singer said that Frances Bean had been asked to play Bella Swan in the popular vampire franchise instead of Kristen Stewart, but had turned it down because it was "sexist".

Love, who was speaking as a guest on Howard Stern's radio show, said: "When she was 13 she was offered Twilight, she was offered Bella in Twilight. Someone just saw a picture of her in a magazine and sent me the script for Twilight. She was like, 'That's a sexist Mormon piece of shit'. She was 13. It would have destroyed her life."

Despite the popularity of the series, the final film in the franchise - The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 - received the dubious honour of winning seven awards at this year's Razzie Awards. The ceremony, which is held on the eve of the Oscars and celebrates the worst films in Hollywood, saw the flick take home the Worst Picture prize, with its other awards including Worst Actress for Kristin Stewart, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actor for Taylor Lautner, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Sequel and Worst Screen Couple.

Earlier this week (May 29), meanwhile, Love revealed she recently put an ad on internet listings site Craigslist looking for musicians to work with and received only one response. The singer will be releasing her next studio album under her own name after 2010's Hole LP 'Nobody's Daughter'.
