'Danger Mouse' to return with new series in 2015
Beloved character will be modernised with 'i-patch' and state of the art headquarters
Danger Mouse is to make a return to children's TV with CBBC set to show a new series of the animated show.
It has been two decades since the superhero and his sidekick Penfold were seen on screens with both characters set to return along with new gadgets, locations, villains and vehicles. CBBC will broadcast its new series from 2015. Sir David Jason voiced the original Danger Mouse between 1981 and 1992.
BBC News reports that Danger Mouse's eye patch will be replaced by an "i-patch" with multiple technological functions while his headquarters boast "state-of-the-art wizardry."
CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor as saying that a new series will "win over a whole new generation of fans. Danger Mouse is the last word in debonair and delightfully eccentric heroics," adding, "CBBC is thrilled to be kick-starting their adventures afresh."
