Daniel Craig to star in two more Bond movies?

Daniel Craig is contracted to star in "at least five" Bond movies, according to a new report.

The actor will make his third appearance as 007 in Skyfall, due for release next month (October), meaning that he potentially has two movies left to shoot.

The report appears on Bond fansite MI6, which also claims that the studio behind the film franchise wants to return to a "two-year cycle". This would schedule Craig's next outings as Bond for 2014 and 2016.

If Craig fulfills his reported contractual commitments, he will become the third most prolific Bond actor in history. Sean Connery and Roger Moore played the secret agent in seven movies apiece. However, the report also notes that several past Bond stars have been released from their contracts early.

Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, is scheduled for release on October 26 (2012) - scroll down to watch the trailer. Alongside Craig, Judi Dench will make her seventh appearance as Bond's commanding officer, M. Ben Whishaw will make his debut as gadgets guru Q, while Javier Bardem will appear as the main villain.

The makers of the 007 movies recently announced plans to celebrate the franchise's 50th anniversary with a Global James Bond Day on October 5 (2012). The first Bond film, Dr No, had its world premiere on the same date in 1962.
