Daniel Radcliffe to grow 'Horns'

Harry Potter actor talks life post-Hogwarts at Comic-Con

Daniel Radcliffe to grow 'Horns'

Daniel Radcliffe was at the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend to promote new film Horns and spoke about his career since putting down Harry Potter’s wand.

“A lot of people see me as Harry but it only takes one director to see you as somebody else and luckily there have been four or five,” said Radcliffe.

The latest director to see past the cloak and spectacles is horror helmer Alex Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) who has cast Radcliffe in fantasy flick Horns as a small-town guy with a big problem.

Speaking about Radcliffe's character Ig Perrish, Aja told fans at Comic-Con: "Physically he is turning into the devil but inside he is still himself. It’s the world around him that is turning into hell."

Blamed for the death of his longtime girlfriend (Juno Temple), Ig awakes one morning on the anniversary of her death to find a pair of horns growing from his head in the supernatural thriller.

Based on the best-selling novel by Joe Hill, the film also stars Max Minghella (son of the late director Anthony Minghella) and Heather Graham (The Hangover).

Horns debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last September and will be released in cinemas on Halloween.

Since the Harry Potter finale Radcliffe has appeared in a diverse range of films playing beat poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings and starring in Hammer horror The Woman In Black. Radcliffe will also be seen in Frankenstein with James McAvoy and has stated that he'd love to appear as Robin alongside Ben Affleck's Batman.

His co-star Juno Temple appeared in Killer Joe with Matthew McConaughey and is currently filming period gangster thriller Black Mass with Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Depp.
