Danny Boyle for Steve Jobs biopic?

Danny Boyle could direct the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic, according to reports.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker Boyle has held talks with studio Sony about taking over the picture. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, meanwhile, who worked with Boyle on The Beach, is also thought to have been contacted about playing the lead role.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that director David Fincher had dropped out of the project. It was claimed that he and Sony had fallen out over plans for the biopic, with reports suggesting that Fincher wanted to be paid a fee of $10 million up front, and also wanted to be handed control over the film's proposed marketing campaign.

Steve Jobs served as Apple CEO over three decades from 1971 to 2000, before dying in October 2011 of complications arising from pancreatic cancer. Another biopic of his life, simply titled Jobs and starring Ashton Kutcher in the titular role, was released in the US in 2013.
