Danny Dyer's new movie Run For Your Wife has made a disastrous start at the box office.
According to The Guardian, the farcical comedy opened in nine UK cinemas last Friday (February 15) and took a paltry £602 over its opening weekend: an average of just £67 per cinema. However, its gross to date is boosted slightly by an additional £320 from preview screenings.
Run For Your Wife, Ray Cooney's adaptation of his 1983 stage play, has been savaged by critics and currently holds a 0% critical approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes. The film stars Dyer as a cabbie struggling to juggle his two separate lives with two different wives, played by Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding and Denise Van Outen.
The film's cast also features Neil Morrissey and Christopher Biggins, while a raft of British comedy legends make guest appearances, including Prunella Scales, Andrew Sachs and the late Richard Briers. Cliff Richard and Rolf Harris have cameo roles too.
Run For Your Wife could still save face, The Guardian notes, as it will play at an additional 65 cinemas this week, though mainly in cheaper daytime slots. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch the trailer.
