Director Robert Rodriguez talks 'Sin City 2'
Filmmaker also hints at possibility of 'Sin City 3', too
Director Robert Rodriguez has spoken out about the forthcoming Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For.
According to Collider, the filmmaker has confirmed that shooting on the neo-noir comic book picture has now been completed, and the sequel will open in cinemas this August.
He said: "I was just here with Frank Miller [creator of Sin City graphic novel] and we were watching it last night. [We] finished the cut, effects are being done and it will come out in August.
"[Miller] watched it last night with me and then at the end he said, he didn’t have any comments, he was very happy with it," he added. "And he said, 'now, about part three'... So he's already there on part three!"
Co-directed by Rodriguez and Miller based on the latter's series of graphic novels, the original Sin City was a hit with critics and film fans back in 2005. The film's stellar ensemble cast included Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba.
Willis, Dawson, Rourke and Alba will all reprise their roles for the sequel, while new additions to the cast include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Juno Temple.
