'Dumb And Dumber 2' offers walk-on roles to fans with Vine competition

One creative Dumb And Dumber fan is to win a small part in the sequel for him/herself and a friend.

Jeff Daniels revealed last month (July) that he and Jim Carrey will start shooting the sequel, officially titled Dumb And Dumber To, this September.

Now writer-directors The Farrelly Brothers have launched a Vine competition for a a couple of walk-on roles in the film. Peter Farrelly used the pair's Facebook page to post the entry details last night (August 15).

"Alright, here are the contest rules for Winning A Walk-On On Dumb & Dumber To!" he wrote. "First, make a Vine re-creating a scene from the original Dumb & Dumber, but put your own spin on it. Use the hashtag ‪#‎DumbTo‬ so we can see them all. (Yeah yeah, I know what a "hashtag" is...now)."

The filmmaker then stipulated: "You have until September 15, 2013 to post. After September 15, Bobby and I will pick the winner. The winner and a friend gets to be a walk-on on the film."

Last month, Jeff Daniels also confirmed that Dumb And Dumber To will be released in 2014: the 20th anniversary of the original film. "I've seen the script, it's hysterical. We're middle-aged, we're not pretending we aren't. We're middle-aged and we're still that stupid," he said at the time.

Written and directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the original Dumb And Dumber came out in 1994 and starred Carrey and Daniels as dimwitted friends on a road trip. A prequel called Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd followed in 2003, but it did not feature the original stars or any involvement from the Farrelly Brothers.
