Extended NSFW 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer released - watch

An extended trailer for next month's Kick-Ass 2 has been released.

The four-and-a-half minute teaser is packed with thrills, spills and naughty words and should probably be considered NSFW (not safe for work). If this doesn't bother you, scroll down and click 'play' to watch it.

Jim Carrey has joined the cast for Kick-Ass 2 and plays a "badass" called Colonel Stars And Stripes who teams up with Aaron Johnson's eponymous superhero. However, Carrey has recently distanced himself from the film, telling his Twitter followers on June 23: "I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence."

Mark Millar, creator of the original Kick-Ass comic books and an executive producer on the movies, responded to Carrey's comments the same day, writing on his official website: "Jim, I love ya and I hope you reconsider... You're amazing in this insanely fun picture."

Based on Millar's comic book, the first Kick-Ass film tells the story of an ordinary teenager, Dave Lizewski, who reinvents himself as a real-life superhero called Kick-Ass. When it opened in cinemas in 2010, Kick-Ass wasn't a huge box office success, but it's since built a cult following on DVD and Blu-ray.

Director Jeff Wadlow shot the sequel in Toronto between September and November last year (2012). Alongside Johnson, Chloë Moretz has returned as Hit-Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plasse is back as The Mother Fucker. Kick-Ass 2 opens in cinemas on August 14.
