The 60-second clip, which premiered during the Super Bowl yesterday (February 3), confirms that the car chase sequel is simply titled "Fast & Furious 6". It features the first glimpse of new villain Owen Shaw, played by British actor Luke Evans.
The trailer also features Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris, who have all reprised their roles from previous films in the series. Fast & Furious 6 started shooting last July (2012) in London, while other locations used included Liverpool, Los Angeles, Scotland and the Canary Islands.
Earlier this month (February 2013), an official plot synopsis was released by Universal Pictures. It reveals that the usual F&F crew reunite to thwart a criminal outfit led by Luke Evans' Owen Shaw character. If successful, the gang will earn their pardons and be able to return safely to their families.
Fast & Furious 6 opens in cinemas worldwide on May 24. The five previous F&F films came out between 2001 and 2011 and collectively grossed over $1.5 billion (£950 million) worldwide. Meanwhile, five over movies premiered new trailers during yesterday's Super Bowl, including Star Trek Into Darkness and Iron Man 3.
