Felicity Jones hints at The Black Cat role in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’
‘Like Crazy’ actress said she’ll be wearing a costume in the upcoming superhero sequel
Felicity Jones has hinted that she’ll be appearing as The Black Cat in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The Like Crazy actress told Collider that she will be wearing a costume on screen in the upcoming superhero sequel, leaving many purring at the possibility that she’ll be playing the jewel thief, also known as Felicia Hardy.
Asked if she had any say on what her character wore in the film, she said: "Oh, yeah, totally! Absolutely! It’s a medium that’s very collaborative. Actors and directors work on things together. That’s how I like to work, anyway. I don’t want to be told what to do. I want to share it with someone and work it out together. You know that person better than anyone. That’s my job."
The 30-year-old actress has also been linked to the role of Lily Hollister – aka Menace – but many fans believe her feline looks make her a perfect match for the Hardy role.
Director Marc Webb finished shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in June of this year and the film is set to open worldwide on May 2, 2014. Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker and Emma Stone reprises her role as Gwen Stacy, while Jamie Foxx will play the villainous Electro.
Alongside Foxx, Chronicle star Dane DeHaan is another new addition to the cast and plays Harry Osborn, Peter Parker's best friend. Shailene Woodley had been due to appear as Mary Jane Watson, but her role has recently been cut from the film and MJ will now make her Amazing Spider-Man debut in the third movie, due in 2016.
It was recently revealed that the film's score will be provided by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Johnny Marr, while screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, who all share the credit for writing the superhero sequel, have reportedly agreed to reunite to pen a third and fourth installment in the series due in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
