First picture of Elijah Wood in 'The Hobbit' revealed
And new pictures of Martin Freeman and Ian McKellen are also released
The first picture of Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins in The Hobbit has been revealed. It appears at the top of this article.
Meanwhile, two new pictures of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins have also been released, along with a previously unseen photo of Ian McKellen as Gandalf. You can see these below.
The promotional campaign for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy is building up speed as the first film approaches. Subtitled An Unexpected Journey, it will have its worldwide premiere in Wellington, New Zealand on November 28 before opening in UK cinemas on December 14. You can watch the trailer at the end of this article.

Jackson's second film, The Desolation Of Smaug, will follow in December 2013, before the trilogy concludes with There And Back Again in July 2014. Alongside Freeman, McKellen and Wood, the films boast an ensemble cast including Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, Bret McKenzie and Orlando Bloom.

Earlier this month (October 2012), it was revealed that a special set of The Hobbit commemorative coins are to become legal tender in Jackson's native New Zealand. Meanwhile, the city of Wellington is being renamed The Middle Of Middle Earth for three weeks surrounding the film's premiere.
