First trailer for new Richard Curtis romcom 'About Time' released - watch

The first trailer for About Time, the new romantic comedy film from Richard Curtis, has been released. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch it.

Written and directed by Curtis, About Time is a romcom with a sci-fi twist. It stars up-and-coming Irish actor Domnhall Gleeson as Tim, a man who discovers on his 21st birthday that he has the ability to travel through time.

Rachel McAdams co-stars as Mary, the woman Tim must win over twice after he accidentally erases the timeline. Bill Nighy, a familiar face from Richard Curtis films, appears as Tim's father, while the supporting cast also includes Tom Hollander (Rev) and Lindsay Duncan (Doctor Who).

About Time opens in UK cinemas on September 6, but US audiences will have to wait until November 8 to see it.

It's the third film written and directed by Curtis after 2003's Love Actually and 2009's The Boat That Rocked. Curtis also penned the screenplays for classic British romcoms Four Weddings And A Funeral and Notting Hill.
