First TV spot for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' - watch
Comedy sequel starring Will Ferrell opens in cinemas on December 20
The first TV spot for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is now online. Watch it below.
The 30-second teaser features a statement of intent from Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy: "I'm gonna do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this Earth to do: have salon quality hair and read the news." It also shows a tender moment between Steve Carell's Brick Tamland and a new character called Chani played by Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is the sequel to 2004's hit newsroom comedy Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. It follows Ferrell's '70s news anchor as he launches a comeback on a 24-hour network in '80s New York.
Alongside Ferrell and Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate have also reprised their roles from the first Anchorman film, while James Marsden has joined the cast too and plays a rival news anchor.
Meanwhile, Kanye West has filmed a cameo appearance and his improvisational skills drew praise from director Adam McKay. "He was great and he was funny. He came up with a couple good lines on his own," McKay recalled recently. Drake and Green Day make guest appearances in the sequel too - as do Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens in cinemas on December 20 - and McKay has recently revealed he shot enough extra footage to make an alternate version of the film featuring all-new jokes.
