'Fish Tank' director Andrea Arnold plots road trip movie
'American Honey' will shoot in the United States this summer
Fish Tank director Andrea Arnold is set to shoot a road trip movie in the United States this summer.
'American Honey' will be the British filmmaker's fourth movie, following 2006's Red Road and 2009's acclaimed Fish Tank, which both won jury prizes at Cannes Film Festival, and her 2011 version of Wuthering Heights starring Kaya Scodelario. Fish Tank also won the BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film
The Guardian reports that Arnold will be pitching the movie to prospective buyers at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which takes place this month. Cast details have not yet been revealed, but the film has been developed by Film4 who are also providing funding.
The Guardian reports that film tells the story of a young romance and a runaway teen who travels around the United States selling magazine subscriptions to fund her partying lifestyle.
