George Lucas celebrates marriage with a second wedding reception attended by 'Star Wars' Mark Hamill
Prince performed with a 22-piece band under a huge tent at the reception in Chicago
George Lucas celebrated his marriage to Mellody Hobson with a star-studded wedding reception in Chicago yesterday (June 29).
As rumoured yesterday, Prince performed with a 22-piece band under a huge tent at the reception in the Hyde Park area of the US City. Guests at the lavish celebration, the Star Wars director's second reception after tying the knot in California last weekend, included Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, and comic Robin Williams.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, guests received gift bags containing the couple's "favorite local flavours", including chocolate cookies from Carol's Cookies, popcorn from Garrett Popcorn, and Marshall Field's Original Frango Mints. There were also Skywalker Ranch hats, T-shirts and a tote bag.
Last October, George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney in a deal worth $4.05billion (£2.5billion). Production on Star Wars: Episode VII will likely begin production in early 2014, after director JJ Abrams recently revealed that he is moving his family to London at the end of this year to begin pre-production, meaning shooting could begin in January or February next year.
Lucasfilm has slated Star Wars: Episode VII for release in 2015 and hired Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt to pen the script. Original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill have all hinted very strongly that they will be returning.
