After a reported 'leak' last week Sony have now officially released their first teaser trailer for the US adaptation of Stieg Larsson's The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo. Directed by David Fincher - the man behind Se7en and The Social Network - and starring Daniel Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist and Rooney Mara as the titular heroine, The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo has already been adapted in its native Sweden to worldwide acclaim.

While the 'green band' trailer officially released is now considered safe for work, anyone familiar with the material will quickly discover that Fincher won't be shying away from the more disturbing elements of the book.

Having previously won an Oscar with their collaboration on The Social Network, Trent Reznor is once again providing the score.

The music for the trailer, a cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song', comes courtesy of the Nine Inch Nails frontman and Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O.

The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo is released on December 21 in the US and on Boxing Day in the UK.
