Greg Kinnear joins cast of 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues'
'As Good As It Gets' star to appear alongside Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate and Steve Carell
Greg Kinnear will star in Anchorman: The Legend Continues.
The actor, best known for his roles in Oscar-winners As Good As It Gets and Little Miss Sunshine, and Iraq War drama Green Zone, has joined the cast of the Anchorman sequel, currently filming in Atlanta. Josh Lawson has also been added to the cast, which includes Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd all reprising their roles from the 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy.
Deadline.com broke the news, although it's not yet known what roles Kinnear and Lawson will have. Lawson is an Australian actor who was seen with Ferrell in last year's election film The Candidate. Other roles include US cable show House Of Lies, indie film Freeloaders and as a performer on Australian improvisational show Thank God You're Here.
As well as Kinnear and Lawson, the sequel to the San Diego-set 1970s news room hit will feature Han Solo himself Harrison Ford, Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig, X-Men's James Marsden, Dylan Baker, who played Dr Curt Connors in two Spider-Man films, Brick's Meagan Good and John C Reilly, who starred with Ferrell in Step Brothers. Director Adam McKay is direction the film, which will be released on December 20.
