Harrison Ford breaks ankle on set of 'Star Wars: Episode VII'
Han Solo actor taken to hospital after sustaining injury on set
Harrison Ford has been injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII.
BBC News reports that Ford broke his ankle on a garage door and required medical care at a hospital near to the Pinewood Studios in London, where the film is being shot with director JJ Abrams.
A spokesperson for Lucasfilm said filming on the title will continue while Ford recovers, having been discharged from the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
"Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service added that they had been called to investigate "a door that had fallen."
The eagerly-anticipated sequel is due for release in December 2015 and recently began shooting in London. The seventh installment of the much loved franchise has begun shooting at London's Pinewood studios ahead of a December 2015 release. Original stars Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will return for the film alongside new actors Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o and Oscar Isaac.
