Harrison Ford is the latest addition to the ever-growing cast of Anchorman 2.
The 70-year-old screen icon has signed on to play a "legendary newscaster" in the newsroom sequel, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed. The film, officially titled Anchorman: The Legend Continues, is about to begin shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.
Original cast members Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate have all signed on to reprise their roles from the original film. Meanwhile, other new additions to the cast include James Marsden, John C Reilly and Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig.
Released in 2004, the original Anchorman was a parody of a 70s TV newsroom written by Ferrell and director Adam McKay. The pair have also teamed up to write the sequel, which is slated for release on December 20.
Speaking last year, McKay revealed a few teasers about the sequel's plot, saying: "I don't want to give away too much, but I'll just give a couple of ideas that we've kicked around. Keep in mind we're still writing the story, but I'll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I'll give you that. I'll give you another one: bowling for dollars."
