'Harry Potter' star: Robert Pattinson 'dissed Twilight' prior to franchise's success
Co-star reveals hearthrob brushed off vampire saga as 'no big deal'
Twilight star Robert Pattinson discounted the vampire saga as "no big deal" before he began filming.
Natalia Tena, who plays a prostitute alongside Pattinson in forthcoming film Bel Ami, says the actor didn't think much of the series on which he's made his name.
We had this summer of being really close. I remember Robert taking me out a few months later. He was like, 'I'm just saying goodbye because I'm going to America for a few months to do some vampire thing.'
Tena, 26, and Pattinson originally on a photo shoot for emerging British actors. She appeared in 2007's Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and has featured in all the subsequent Hogwarts-set films. Pattinson appeared in the ...Goblet Of Fire film in the series, playing Cedric Diggory.
The London-born actor has found further fame in movies such as Water For Elephants and Remember Me
It's likely Pattinson's view on the films, now he's one of Hollywood's hottest actors and dates co-star Kristen Stewart, has changed significantly.
In Bel Ami, Tena and Pattinson star alongside Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott-Thomas, and Uma Thurman.
