Hugh Jackman's Wolverine set to appear in next 'X-Men' movie
Jackman's in negotiations to appear in 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past', which is due in 2014
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine could feature in the next X-Men movie.
Jackman has already made five appearances as Wolverine in X-Men films, including an uncredited cameo in last year's hit prequel, X-Men: First Class. His own spin-off movie, simply titled The Wolverine, is due for release next July (2013).
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackman is "in negotiations" to make another appearance as the mutant superhero in the next X-Men adventure.
The film, titled X Men: Days Of Future Past, is a follow-up to last year's First Class. It will be directed by Bryan Singer, who recently announced that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be reprising their popular X-Men roles as Professor Xavier and Magneto. The new movie will also feature James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, who played younger versions of these characters in First Class.
X Men: Days Of Future Past begins filming early next year (2013) and is scheduled for release on July 18, 2014. It has a script by Simon Kinberg, who has previously revealed that the story will focus on Magneto, the character played by Fassbender in First Class and McKellen in earlier X-Men movies.
Meanwhile, Jackman has recently admitted that he landed his Wolverine role thanks to Russell Crowe. When the original X-Men movie was being cast back in 2000, Crowe turned down the part, but recommended Jackman instead.
