Hugh Laurie is in talks to star as a villain in Disney's sci-fi movie Tomorrowland.
The super-secretive film stars George Clooney and is to be directed by Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol helmer Brad Bird. Not a lot is known about Laurie's character other than he will be the film's antagonist, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot for the film, which was until recently titled 1952, is being held as a closely guarded secret, but it's said to have similarities to Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.
Tomorrowland has a script script by Damon Lindelof, who will also produce the movie. Lindelof served as an executive producer on Lost from 2004 to 2010 after creating the show with JJ Abrams and and Jeffrey Lieber. He also co-wrote the screenplay for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, which came out last June (2012).
Hugh Laurie is best known for playing for his Emmy-nominated starring lead role in House, which ran from 2004-12. The popular medical drama made the English actor the highest paid in US TV drama history after his salary reportedly reached $700,000 (£440,000) per episode. In 2011, Laurie launched a recording career with an album of blues standards called 'Let Them Talk', which charted at Number Two in the UK.
