Watch the first trailer for the found footage horror produced by The Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja.

Buckley (pictured) plays unlucky cameraman Fitzie who heads to the Egyptian desert with a team of archaeologists who get the fright of their lives when they discover a pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert.

The film's synopsis reveals: "As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realise they aren't just trapped, they are being hunted."

The trailer shows Buckley lost inside one of the ancient wonders of the world which has cursed explorers who dare to enter.

Also starring Ashley Hinshaw, Denis O’Hare and Christa Nicola, The Pyramid is released in cinemas December 5.

James Buckley is due to start filming fantasy adventure Welcome To Purgatory with The Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell. The story follows three new arrivals in purgatory who find their way around the afterlife with St Paul as their guide.

The Inbetweeners 2 was released earlier this month and has taken over £2m at the UK box office.
