Incredibly gory NSFW trailer for 'Evil Dead' remake released - watch

A second trailer for the remake of Evil Dead has been released online. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch it... if you dare.

The two-and-a-half-minute teaser has been given "Red Band" status, meaning it is only approved for more mature audiences. It is even gorier than the first trailer, which can be seen here, and so it's not recommended to NME readers who consider themselves squeamish.

Evil Dead centres on a group of college students who take a holiday in an isolated cabin in the Tennessee hills. Once there, they discover a so-called "Book of the Dead" in the cellar and unwittingly summon up demons living in the woods nearby. It is a remake of the 1981 horror classic written and directed by Sam Raimi.

Raimi is on board as producer for the remake, which is being helmed by rookie director Fede Álvarez. Raimi's original script has been revised by Hollywood newcomer Rodo Sayagues and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody, the wisecracking scribe behind Juno and Jennifer's Body.

The cast includes Jessica Lucas from Cloverfield, Red Riding Hood's Shiloh Fernandez and Jane Levy, star of US sitcom Suburgatory. Evil Dead is scheduled to open in UK cinemas on April 19.
