'James Bond 23' release date confirmed by Sony
Daniel Craig's next spy outing will hit screens next year
The UK release date for the next James Bond film has been revealed. The 23rd installment in the long-running spy series will hit screens on October 26, 2012.
The news was announced via Twitter.com/SonyPictures, while the US release date had already been confirmed as November 9.
Following on from Quantum Of Solace, the new film will be Daniel Craig's third outing as Ian Fleming's iconic super-spy. As yet untitled, the new film is going under the working title of simply Bond 23.
Production on the film had been put on hold while studio MGM faced a financial crisis, but was resumed when the company emerged from the threat of bankruptcy in November last year.
Sam Mendes is in the director's chair, while Judi Dench will reprise her role as M. Anthony Hopkins has reportedly been linked to the role of a villain, with Javier Bardem also in the frame.
