James McAvoy says Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler will be back for new 'X-Men' movie

James McAvoy has apparently revealed that Alan Cumming is coming back for the new X-Men movie.

Cumming appeared in 2003's X2 as Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler, a good-natured mutant known for his distinctive blue skin. Speaking in December (2012), Cumming revealed that he wants to revisit the role, but admitted he hadn't "gotten the call" from director Bryan Singer.

However, during a recent interview with Heat Radio, McAvoy mentioned Cumming's name in a list of cast members for the new movie. The actor said: "You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender], Nicholas Hoult will be back, and he's just blossoming massively over [in America]… Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned - I don't know if that's happening - 'Huge' Jackman is coming by, he's massive, 7'5" and muscly…"

Bryan Singer is due to start shooting the new X-Men movie, Days Of Future Past, next month (April). Last November, the director announced the film has roles for franchise veterans Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as well as the stars of 2011's hit reboot X-Men: First Class: McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine also has a confirmed role and Halle Berry, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin are all definitely returning too. Meanwhile, Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is a brand new addition to the cast and will play the film's main villain. Days Of Future Past is scheduled for release on July 18, 2014.
