Hollywood legends Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Turteltaub have revealed which famous musicians they would like to make biopics about.

The pair were speaking to NME about their new film The Sorcerer's Apprentice when they named the legends they would pick for a film about their rise to fame.

r /> Stars Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel also spoke to us about their favourite musicians, with Cage talking about his relationship with Tom Waits.

Naming The Beatles and Louis Armstrong as his choices for a biopic, Turteltaub explained that he is "fascinated by what made The Beatles The Beatles," before adding "I think Louis Armstrong is an amazing character that no one really gets or understands."

Producer for the new Nicolas Cage film, Jerry Bruckheimer picked Janis Joplin when asked who he would make a music biopic about.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is out on Wednesday (August 11).
