Films will be released in 2016, 2018 and 2020

Warner Bros have confirmed that the Harry Potter spin-off novel Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them will become a trilogy of movies.

The studio will release the films – based on bestselling author JK Rowling's original story and screenwriting debut – in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Warner Bros CEO Tsujihara has promised they will be "three megamovies".

Fantastic Beasts... is set in New York City, 70 years before the events of Harry Potter, and follows Newt Scamander, the 'author' of 'Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them', which decades later becomes one of Harry's schoolbooks at Hogwarts.

Warner Bros has also announced three more LEGO movies. Ninjango will be released in 2016, The LEGO Batman Movie in 2017, and The LEGO Movie 2 in 2018.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is scheduled for release in cinemas November 18, 2016.
