Josh Brolin admits there is a 'Goonies 2' script
However, the actor regrets talking to journalists about the movie
Josh Brolin has admitted a script has been written for a Goonies sequel, but declared he regrets making jokes about the possibility of a movie because journalists take his comments seriously. The No Country For Old Men actor played Brandon 'Brand' Walsh in the much loved 1985 movie, and is constantly asked if there will be a follow-up.
Brolin told Starpulse.com: "People refuse to let go of this film… It's gotten so I've told interviewers, 'We're all planning the sequel and I'm meeting with Meryl Streep about it,' and the next day, I've actually seen it reported as exclusive news."
However, he did reveal that a script has been written.
"I saw [Goonies co-writer and producer] Steven Spielberg on the street and I asked for the reality [of a sequel]," he said. "I hear there is a script, yes, but there's no talk about doing a Goonies sequel at this very moment."
Brolin is currently starring in the Wall Street sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
