Josh Brolin to provide the voice of Thanos in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

It has been confirmed that Josh Brolin will play Thanos in Guardians Of The Galaxy.

The character has a small role in the film, which stars Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper and opens in the UK on August 14, and will appear alongside the film's main villain, Ronan the Accuser. It is then rumoured that Thanos will play a larger role in next summer'The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Thanos was first seen by fans of the Marvel movies during the end-credits of The Avengers in 2012 and The Latino Review states that Brolin has signed on to provide the voice for the CGI character in future films.

Guardians Of The Galaxy boasts a bumper cast with Brolin joining Zoe Saldana and Vin Diesel among others. John C Reilly, Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista also appear. Director James Gunn began shooting the film in July last year (2013).

It was reported recently that Marvel are already discussing a sequel to the film, which could potentially be released on May 6, 2016 – a date which has been reserved for an unannounced project by Marvel, and would come shortly after a Guardians Of The Galaxy cartoon series premieres on Disney XD in autumn 2015. Marvel, however, have not yet commented on the reports.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in UK cinemas on on April 24 2015 while US viewers will have to wait seven extra days, when the film opens there on May 1.
