Jude Law joins Robert Pattinson and Naomi Watts in explorer movie 'Queen Of The Desert'
The film will tell the story of legendary British explorer Gertrude Bell
Jude Law has joined the cast of Queen Of The Desert, an upcoming biopic co-starring Naomi Watts and Robert Pattinson.
In the film, Watts will portray Gertrude Bell, the legendary British explorer who helped to found the modern state of Iraq. Back in August (2012), Pattinson was tapped to play Bell's close friend and comrade TE Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Law is now on board too, though it is not known what role he will play. Queen Of The Desert is being directed by acclaimed German filmmaker Werner Herzog, who also wrote the screenplay. Shooting is expected to begin next March (2013) in Morocco.
Meanwhile, Law has several projects coming up, including computer animated movie Rise Of The Guardians and a Steven Soderbergh thriller called The Bitter Pill. He is also rumoured to be involved in The Grand Budapest Hotel, the mysterious new Wes Anderson movie starring Bill Murray.
Speaking in September (2012), Law confirmed that he and Robert Downey Jr are keen to make another Sherlock Holmes film with director Guy Ritchie. He said at the time: "We're a very happy team and we have a lot of fun and we also think there's still a lot of legs in the duo."
