Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin in HBO drama

Julianne Moore has signed up to play Sarah Palin in a new movie. The star of The Kids Are Alright will portray the Republican politician in upcoming HBO TV film Game Change. The film will depict John McCain's failed 2008 presidential bid, in which Palin was his running mate.

The film is based on authors John Heliemann and Mark Halperin's book of the same name, and is set to be directed by Jay Roach, reports Variety.

Palin is widely expected to run for the Republican presidential nomination in the next US election, although she has yet to officially throw her hat into the ring.

Last year Moore appeared in 30 Rock as a love interest for Alec Baldwin[b]'s character [b]Jack Donaghy.
