Julianne Moore wanted for final two 'Hunger Games' films
Director Francis Lawrence wants her to play President Alma Coin in his two 'Mockingjay' movies
Julianne Moore is being targeted by the makers of The Hunger Games film franchise.
According to Deadline, director Francis Lawrence and distributors Lionsgate want Moore to play President Alma Coin, a ruthless and scheming leader who has a prominent role in Suzanne Moore's final Hunger Games novel Mockingjay, which is being split into two separate films.
A deal is likely to happen quickly, Deadline predicts, and Moore would star in both films alongside returning cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is scheduled for release in November 2014 with Part 2 following in November 2015.
In the meantime, the second film in the franchise, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is set to hit cinemas on November 22. It will feature Seymour Hoffmann's first appearance as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee.
Four-time Oscar nominee Moore won an Emmy earlier this year (2013) for her performance as Sarah Palin in HBO movie Game Change. She'll next be seen in Don Jon, a quirky romcom directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the remake of Stephen King's Carrie starring Chloe Moretz. Both films open in the UK in November.
