The role of Keith Richards in an upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic has now been cast.
All Is My By My Side, starring OutKast's Andre 3000 as the late rock star, is currently shooting in Dublin.
Captain America: The First Avenger actress Hayley Atwell will play Linda Keith, Richards' girlfriend, who discovered Hendrix performing in a New York nightclub.
British newcomer Ashley Charles has been cast as Richards himself, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After befriending Hendrix, Keith recommended him to Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, who turned down the opportunity to represent the guitarist. She then introduced Hendrix to Chas Chandler, the former bassist in The Animals who would become his manager.
Keith also claims to have given Hendrix a Fender Stratocaster belonging to Richards and a demo recording of Tim Rose singing 'Hey Joe', the song that would become his first hit.
In his 2010 autobiography Life, Richards wrote of his then girlfriend: "She went to New York and took up further with Jimi Hendrix, who may have broken her heart, as she broke mine."
