Kevin Bacon is set to appear in Ryan Reynolds' new supernatural action comedy R.I.P.D.. Bacon will once again take on a villain role in Robert Schwentke's adaptation of the Peter Lenkov's Dark Horse comic book series, reports Variety.com.
The 52-year-old is apparently in "final negotiations" over the role, after previous bad guy stints in X-Men: First Class, The River Wild and Hollow Man.
R.I.P.D. - which stands for Rest In Peace Department - follows the story of a dead cop's ghost being recruited by a team of undead police officers.
Reynolds - who is a co-producer on the movie - will play the lead role of a cop, while Jeff Bridges will star as his partner.
Jodie Foster has also been rumoured for a role in the movie, while The Hangover star Zach Galifiankis pulled out of appearing due to scheduling conflicts earlier this year.
R.I.P.D. is due to be released on June 28, 2013.
