'Kick-Ass' actress cast as Emily The Strange
Chloe Moretz will play the counterculture icon
Chloe Moretz has signed up to play counterculture heroine Emily The Strange in a film adaptation. The child star played Hit-Girl in Matthew Vaughn's recent Kick-Ass and will next play a vampire in the forthcoming Let Me In, a US remake of the acclaimed Swedish horror movie Let The Right One In.
Emily The Strange creator Rob Reger decided on Moretz after meeting her at this year's Comic-Con.
According to Hollywoodreporter.com, the storyline for the film, which will revolve around the goth adventures of Emily and her friends Sabbath, Nee-Chee, Miles and Mystery, is as yet unknown.
No writer or director is currently attached to the project.
Emily The Strange was one of many designs by skateboard designer Reger in the early 1990s, but the character took off and has appeared in books, comics and a clothes line.
