'Kick-Ass' star Aaron Taylor-Johnson joins cast of 'The Avengers: Age Of Ultron'
He'll play Quicksilver, a mutant with superhuman speed, in Joss Whedon's sequel to 'The Avengers'
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has signed up to appear in the The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
In July of this year (2013) the Kick-Ass star confirmed he was in talks for the role of Quicksilver, a mutant with superhuman speed who's set to feature in the sequel alongside his twin sister the Scarlet Witch.
Now he has finalised a deal with Marvel, TheWrap reports, after resolving a potential scheduling clash between a publicity tour for the forthcoming Godzilla reboot, which he stars in alongside Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, and Joss Whedon's shoot for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
Whedon is due to start shooting in London early next year (2014) and Marvel has set a release date of May 1, 2015. James Spader has signed up to play the title character of Ultron, a well-known supervillain from the Marvel universe.
Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson are all set to reprise their roles from last year's The Avengers. Meanwhile, Jackson apparently let slip earlier this month (October) that Elizabeth Olsen has been cast as the Scarlet Witch, the twin sister of Taylor-Johnson's character Quicksilver.
