Kurt Russell up for role in 'Fast & Furious 7'
He'd join Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson in the sequel due out next year (2014)
Veteran actor Kurt Russell could be about to join the cast of Fast & Furious 7.
The role Russell is eyeing up, Variety reports, was originally offered to Denzel Washington, which suggests it is likely to be significant to the film's story.
Fast & Furious favourites Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris will all be back, while Jason Statham has signed up to play the main villain after making a cameo at the end of this year's Fast & Furious 6.
James Wan (Saw, Insidious) has come on board as director and shooting is due to start this month (September) in locations including Abu Dhabi and Atlanta. The film will open in UK and US cinemas on July 11, 2014.
Since its release this May, Fast & Furious 6 has taken a massive $785 million (£500 million) at cinemas worldwide, making it the most successful film in the franchise yet. The six F&F films to date have raked in a collective $2.3 billion (£1.5 billion) at the global box office since the series began in 2001.
