Kylie Minogue is set to star in a new musical comedy movie featuring a selection of 1980s pop songs.
Titled Walking On Sunshine, the film tells the story of a mother and daughter who fall in love with the same man in Spain. According to The Wrap, Minogue is being lined up to star alongside Quantum Of Solace star Gemma Arterton.
Currently in pre-production, the film is being directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, the duo behind StreetDance 3D. Moulin Rouge! choreographer John O'Connell has been hired to oversee the dance sequences.
Minogue, 43, recently returned to acting with a role in surreal French fantasy film Holy Motors. At the end of this article, you can hear her performing a song from the film called 'Who Were We?', which was co-written by The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon. Minogue's previous screen appearances include Moulin Rouge!, the much-mocked Street Fighter and of course Neighbours.
Meanwhile, British actress Arterton will soon be seen with Jeremy Renner in action horror flick Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, due early next year. As well as Quantum Of Solace, her previous movie credits include Tamara Drewe and Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
