Mackenzie Davis will join Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in the sequel to classic sci-fi film Blade Runner.
The Canadian actress is best known for starring in the The Martian last year alongside Matt Damon – with the film helmed by original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott.
But Scott will not return to direct the sequel, and Sicario director Dennis Villuenueve will instead take the helm.
Davis was also previously seen in horror comedy Freaks of Nature and currently stars as computer programmer Cameron Howe in TV series Halt and Catch Fire.
Few details are known about the sequel to the 1982 sci-fi sequel, but it’s believed that the film be set some 30 years after the original – and will see Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard forced into action once more.
Shooting on the film is expected to begin next month.
