'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm tells fans to 'lay off' his large penis

Mad Men star Jon Hamm has admitted he is getting sick of people's obsession with his apparently rather large penis.

Over the years, Hamm's ample member has made a habit of announcing itself in photographs, leading to no end of interest from gossip mags and celebrity websites. Contributing factors have included the tightness of Mad Men's '60s-style trousers and Hamm's relaxed approach to putting on underwear during his days off.

However, in a new interview with Rolling Stone, the actor revealed that the attention is beginning to make him feel sensitive. He explained: "Most of it's tongue-in-cheek, but it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have - a prurience."

One impressed fan has even set up a Tumblr called Jon Hamm's Wang in honour of the actor's manhood. "Jon Hamm likes to go commando," the blog notes at the top of its first page. "No underpants have the power to hold back Jon Hamm's wang."

Continuing, Hamm expressed his disapproval for the Tumblr, saying: "They're called 'privates' for a reason. I'm wearing pants, for fuck's sake. Lay off. I mean, it's not like I'm a fucking lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal."

However, Hamm did concede that it's better for a man to be known for bursting out of his trousers than not being able to fill them. "But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite," he said.

In non-wang-related Jon Hamm news, season six of Mad Men begins on April 7 in the US and April 10 in the UK, where it airs on Sky Atlantic.
