Madonna's latest film to feature Sex Pistols

Star's 'W. E.' to have music from punk icons

Madonna's latest film to feature Sex Pistols

Madonna's latest film may focus on the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, but it's set to have a much more modern soundtrack. W.E. - Madonna's follow-up to her widely-panned directorial debut Filth and Wisdom - will feature at least two Sex Pistols songs.

According to the Mail, Anarchy In The UK will be "blasting away during a scene set in 1935", while another scene sees "the Duchess, now 70, twisting away to God Save The Queen as her pugs nip at her heels, while her husband, the former King Edward VIII, lies dying on the other side of the room".

The film, starring Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), looks to follow in the footsteps of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette in using anachrostic music for a period film.

There were rumours Ewan McGregor had signed up to the film, but these have since been denied by his agent.

Shooting is set to begin this summer in London, New York and the south of France.
