‘Man of Steel’ sequel reportedly in development

New Superman movie given the go ahead by Warner Bros.

Warners Bros. have reportedly green lit a sequel to 2013 Superman movie Man of Steel.

The studio are in the early stages of developing the follow-up to the Christopher Nolan produced and Zack Snyder directed movie, according to TheWrap.

Henry Cavill donned the superhero’s cape for the first time in Man of Steel, launching the DC Cinematic Universe. The film went on to take $668m in the global box office.

Earlier this year, Cavill reprised the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which followed on from the events of his previous solo outing.

While Ben Affleck’s Batman makes an appearance the recently released Suicide Squad, fans will have to wait till 2017’s Justice League for Cavill’s return.

Suicide Squad director David Ayer recently spoke to NME about the criticism his movie has faced and why he thinks fans have taken his side.

In a video interview with NME, Ayer revealed that he doesn't shy away from the bad reviews. "I love reading stuff. I love going on the Internet and I guess I'm a little bit dauntless in that regard."
