Martin Scorsese to adapt 'The Wolf Of Wall Street'

Film will star Leonardo DiCaprio

Martin Scorsese is set to direct Leonardo DiCaprio in an adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s autobiographical novel The Wolf Of Wall Street. The drama will follow the rise and fall of Belfort, one of the most infamous names in American finance.

His bestselling memoir, The Wolf of Wall Street, has been published in many countries and translated into 18 languages.

The film is set to be shot this summer, although further details have not been revealed yet.

Before making the film Scorsese will direct Silence, reports Nymag.com. Based on the 2006 novel by Shusaku Endo, the plot of the film tells the story of two Jesuit priests who move to Japan to spread the word of Christianity, and are met with violence.

Benicio del Toro, Daniel Day-Lewis and Gael Garcia Bernal have all been linked to the project, although no names are confirmed yet.

Scorsese is currently putting the finishing touches to Hugo Cabret, an upcoming adventure film based on Brian Selznick's bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The film is due for release on December 9.
