Marvel's Kevin Feige: 'Iron Man 3 will be Avengers Assemble antidote'
Details emerge of a third film starring Robert Downey Jr
Marvel's head honcho Kevin Feige has spoken about the company's plans for Iron Man 3.
As Avengers Assemble breaks box office records, Feige has revealed that they're already looking towards the making a third Iron Man film, starring Robert Downey Jr, and said it'll be an "antidote" to Marvel's epic superhero flick.
He told Empire:
So Iron Man 3 has been structured specifically to be the antidote to The Avengers. Circumstances in the story separate Tony from having access to anything.
He continued: "We wanted to take Tony back to, metaphorically speaking, the cave from Iron Man, the first half of Iron Man, when he's cut off from the world and needs just focus on his intellects to get himself out of his situation.
"So he's not calling Thor, he's not calling Captain America, he can't press a special button to have the helicarrier come rescue him, so I think that'll be a nice complement to the team up of Avengers."
Avengers Assemble stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson. You can watch the trailer at the top of the page.
